Samsung Galaxy S9 - Everything that you need to know!

Posted by iCoverLover on Feb 28, 2018

The long-awaited new smartphone from Samsung, the Galaxy S9 is definitely a masterpiece and could be familiar to those who used its previous predecessors. Samsung has once again proved that they could expand the depths of their devices by applying the latest, bleeding-edge technology into their newest flagships.

The new phone doesn't present too many visual differences compared to its predecessor, the Galaxy S8. Both phones have the same screen size, battery and the amount of RAM (4 or 64 GB).

You'll find the biggest differences in an updated camera that brings with it a host of new features. Samsung has equipped S9 and S9 + with the slogan "The camera, reimagined", and they mean: both phones have a mode called Dual Aperture, which allows them to switch between f1.5 or f2.4, which makes easier to shoot in low light or brightness conditions.

It also has a fun and cool new feature, which is the AR Emoji, which lets you personalize a digital version of yourself with anything from glasses and clothes to different facial expressions that match yours.

Samsung has confirmed the price of the Galaxy S9 in the United Kingdom at £739, $719.99 in the United States and $1,199 in Australia.

Detailed information about each of Samsung Galaxy S9's features

Samsung Galaxy S9's Screen Display & Design

For the design, expect to see a style similar to last year's Galaxy S8. That means a full-screen front with an even thinner bezel: Samsung calls it, the 'Infinity Display.'

For the Screen, the Galaxy S9 is going to have the Super AMOLED or the 'Infinity' Display and another 529ppi panel on the S9 Plus. Because Samsung limits the screen resolution to Full-HD + (2220x1080) in the Galaxy S8 by default, although it's not quite possible for now that it will have an increase for the resolution up to 4K.

It is possible that, while maintaining the same dimensions and resolution, the same display technology can be improved. It's also been rumored that Samsung would use Qualcomm's new technology or Synaptics to place a fingerprint scanner under the screen. This could satisfy fans who criticized Samsung's decision to move the sensor on the back of the phone with the latest model.

Samsung Galaxy S9's Processor

The 10nm Snapdragon 835 Samsung helped Qualcomm produce 27 percent faster and 40 percent more energy efficiency than its previous 14nm chips. The next Snapdragon 845 is said to be built on the 7nm production process, and will be even faster and more efficient than ever before.

(The figure 'nm' refers to the distance between the transistors, and the more you can tighten a chip, the faster it will be).

Also, the new key features offered by Snapdragon 845 include a secure processing unit (SPU) that Qualcomm offers total security with the microprocessor, memory, encryption engine and random number generator, all installed inside.

Samsung Galaxy S9's Camera

Based from Qualcomm's newest Snapdragon 845 processor - which will probably power the Galaxy S9, indicates significant advances in camera technology and security.

There is a 12MP rear sensor with optical image stabilization and many other features that we expect from high-end Samsung devices.

One of the most important improvements is the new dual-aperture technology, with the camera automatically adjusting the aperture according to the scene that you'll be shooting, just as the human eye adapts to changing light.

In addition, the S9 and the S9 Plus' camera will be an advanced version of the dual lens camera currently on the Galaxy Note 8. It could even capture video at a rate of 1000 frames per second.

Samsung Galaxy S9's Battery Life

Performance and battery life will also improve, thanks to a Kryo 385 octa-core CPU with four high-power 2.8GHz cores and four low-power 1.8GHz cores; 845 is 30 percent more efficient than 835 for games, video and AR / VR, says Samsung.

Like the Galaxy S8, there is a 3,000 mAh cell inside the Galaxy S9 that powers it daily. It is not clear exactly how long it will last, but it is expected that the new processing technology within the two versions of the phone will make it a little more efficient than the Galaxy S8.

It also comes with wireless charging technology, so you can use a variety of different pads to charge the phone without connecting it. In addition, a quick charge is also offered here, but you need to use the original phone charger to get the full power of the phone as soon as possible.

Samsung Galaxy S9's Additional Features:

Super Slo-Mo

An interesting addition with the S9's camera is the "Super Slo-Mo" function. When you switch to this super slow motion feature, the camera shoots at 960 frames per second, capturing little things you did not even know existed in your video.

AR Emoji

The Galaxy S9 allows you to easily become an emoji by simply taking a selfie. Use the camera to move while you move, which can be a bit confusing but fun to play. Draw 100 different stitches on your face to create a 3D model. It's definitely different from the Animoji that is built into the iPhone, and brings the feeling of Bitmoji's Snapchat antics to regular messages.

Live Translation

For travelers, the Live Translation application on the phone is super helpful. Take a picture of a sign in a foreign language and it will be translated automatically.
